Sound Pop
Listen to the sound. Pop the balloon with the matching letters.
Pick a set
Sets 1 to 19. Words use the sounds up to the set you pick. Ask a grown-up to pick the set your child is on.
For grown-ups
Hear a sound and pop the balloon with the letters that make it. There is no timer and no score to beat: a wrong answer just fades and your child can try again. Eight short rounds make a game.
Follow your own programme. This order follows the general Letters and Sounds phase order (GOV.UK, 2007, now historical). Schools in England choose their own phonics programme. The DfE publishes a list of validated programmes (there is no legal requirement to use one), and each programme orders the sounds a little differently. If your school has one, practise in its order and use these pages for extra listening and reading.
