Look at the colours. Listen to the rhyme. Then tap the colour you hear.

Red, red, red. A big red apple on my head.

Colours are a good first topic because they are easy to point to. Play a colour hunt at home: say a colour and find something that colour.
Every choice is labelled as well as coloured, so children who find some colours hard to tell apart can still play.
