My listening walk
Go outside, or sit by a window. Tap each sound that you hear. Can you find three?
Loud or quiet?
A big drum goes boom. Is it loud or quiet?
A cat walks on soft feet. Is it loud or quiet?
A fire engine goes nee naw. Is it loud or quiet?
A leaf falls to the ground. Is it loud or quiet?
For grown-ups
Take a real listening walk if you can: stop every few steps and ask what your child can hear. Name the sounds in English together.
Listening carefully to sounds in the world is the first step towards hearing the sounds in words.
Nothing is timed and nothing is sent anywhere. Stars and stickers stay on this device. The sound button at the bottom left turns sound effects off.
