The Giant Carrot

One spring day, Grandma Ruth planted a tiny carrot seed in her garden.

She gave it water. She gave it sun. The seed grew and grew.

At last, the carrot was giant! It was bigger than a chair.

Grandma Ruth pulled and pulled. But the carrot did not move.

Kofi came to help. Pull, pull, pull! The carrot did not move.

Then Thiri came, and Leo, and Zara. Pull, pull, pull!

POP! Out came the giant carrot. Everyone fell down, and everyone laughed.

That night, they all had big orange carrot soup. The end.

Ask them to tell the story back using the pictures. It does not matter if they use their home language for some words.
The story is original to Litlings. It uses a traditional idea (everyone helps to pull something big) that appears in folk tales from many countries.
