Teacher notes

  • Print on card for the wall. Use one poster a week and revisit it in writing lessons.
  • Ask children to find the mark in their reading book and copy a sentence.
  • Rules covered: go around the exact words someone says; start a new line when a new person speaks; have a comma, question mark or exclamation mark inside before the closing marks.
