Teacher notes

  • Words: football, tennis, swimming, running, cycling, cricket, basketball, skating, dancing.
  • Print double-sided with the flip on the long edge. Check one sheet first: the words on page two are already reversed within each row, so each lands behind its picture.
  • The front has a drawing frame and a clue (first letter and a dash for every other letter). Children can draw the picture themselves, which is a good use of the last ten minutes of a lesson. Printed pictures from the Litlings picture dictionary will replace the frames when they are ready.
  • Games: Memory (pictures face down, find the pair), Pass the card (say the word, pass it on), What is missing? (hide one card, children guess), Slap the card (call a word, first hand wins).

Picture dictionary: this printable will use 9 dictionary pictures when they are ready. Until then it uses drawing frames and clues.
