Sentences and rhythm

Lesson sixteen. Good typists keep an even beat, like a slow drum. Try not to rush the easy keys and stop at the hard ones. Keep a steady rhythm all the way through.

Tocka

Tip: Say each letter in your head as you type it, in an even beat. Speed will come by itself.

Ready? Sit up tall with your feet flat, put your fingers on the home row, and look at the screen, not your hands. Have a break after about 15 minutes.

For grown-ups

There are 4 short exercises. The tutor waits for the right key, so mistakes cannot pile up, and it shows accuracy and words per minute at the end of each one. The mini test is passed at 90% accuracy. Speed is not part of the pass mark unless you switch on Speed goals (goal for this lesson: 12 words per minute). Progress is saved only in this browser.

The practice text in this lesson:

  2. Words: steady, even, calm, rhythm, smooth, flowing
  3. Sentence: Type with a steady beat, like a slow drum.
  4. Mini test: A good typist keeps an even beat. Slow and steady is the way to start. Speed comes later, all by itself.
