Teacher notes

  • Words: A - cat, hat, bed, ship, frog, lamp, milk, duck, tent, coin. B - table, apple, green, house, water, friend, school, pencil, garden, rabbit. C - because, morning, holiday, thought, cupboard, brother, elephant, between, computer, together.
  • Three tiers let you differentiate: weaker spellers can be given pile A for every turn, stronger ones pile C.
  • Because the reader needs to see the card, rotate the role so every child reads and spells.
  • Quiet version: whiteboards instead of speaking.
