Teacher notes

  • A reference chart for children who have finished the first phonics steps: it shows that one sound often has more than one spelling.
  • Stick it in books or on the wall. Use it for spelling: say the sound, find the choices, choose using what you know of the word.
  • Not every spelling is covered. It shows the main patterns, not every exception.
